Akili is located at 600 Oakland Park Avenue in the neighborhood of Clintonville, five minutes away from the North Broadway exit on I-71.

Classes are from 8:00AM to 2:48PM on school days, and the building is open from 7:00AM to 4:30PM.

Classes at Akili range in size from 10 to 20 students, with a cap of 25 students per class to ensure that each student's academic needs are met.

There are currently 45 students enrolled at Akili for the 2026-27 school year.

Akili's graduation rate is 95%.

All staff at Akili are certified and licensed in the field that they teach. Each teacher undergoes a FBI/BCI background check on an annual basis and participates in 30+ hours of professional development each school year.

All volunteers who have direct contact with students also submit to a FBI/BCI background check and participate in training for their individual roles.

Akili Christian High School places a high value on the dignity of all human beings because God does. We agree with the teaching of the Bible in Genesis 1:27 (and reinforced by Jesus in Matthew 19:4-5), “God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” With this in mind, we expect all students and staff to respect the dignity of others and refrain from acts of harassment, intimidation, and bullying. We expect students and staff to recognize and honor the distinctive value, ethnicity, and biological sex God has created in each person from birth.

Yes! Akili has a school van that provides transportation to and from school for students who live in certain area codes. Students who live outside of the eligibility area are also welcome to purchase discounted COTA passes through the office and/or find their own transportation.

Yes! Akili partners with the Mid-Ohio Food Collective to serve daily lunches for students. Upperclassmen are also permitted to go to lunch off campus.

For students who have IEPs, an Intervention Specialist is on staff to assist them throughout the year, as well as a trained Columbus City Schools classroom aide who regularly works with recommended students to learn important academic skills.

Yes! Students do wear uniforms at Akili consisting of khaki pants, polo shirts in the Akili colors, and Akili spirit wear. Students may participate in various non-uniform days throughout the year on testing dates, field trips, and other special occasions.

Akili offers several student events throughout the year, including dances (Fall Formal and Prom), holiday celebrations, community service, and attendance and class field trips. For a full event calendar, please reach out to the Assistant Principal to learn more.

Akili offers several extracurriculars for students:

Clubs: Badminton, Cooking, Drama, Prayer
Student Leadership Team

Akili students have the opportunity to take four different Bible classes during their time at the school: Introduction to Christianity, Christian Growth, Bible in a Year, and Bible Seminar. Each of these classes is tailored to meet the spiritual needs of high school students who range from investigating their faith (Introduction to Christianity), growing in their faith (Christian Growth and Bible in a Year), and putting their faith into practice (Bible Seminar).

Akili accepts students from all faith backgrounds and spiritual interest levels, and the school actively teaches Christian principles and beliefs aligned with the Bible. For more information, please see the Statement of Faith in the Family Handbook.

Akili’s tuition for the 2026-27 school year is $22,800. All students who attend Akili receive the EdChoice Scholarship as well as other financial aid and scholarships through Akili’s generous tuition assistance programs. Akili’s staff is happy to assist any family with the application process for tuition assistance, and the vast majority of families do not need to pay tuition after demonstrating need.
